DL 20.7 - Working Precariously Zine

Hello!

I am working on a masters thesis investigating alternative ways of confronting precarious positions in the art, culture, and creative industries. I am looking at ways and methods art education can improve internships/traineeships, low paid labor in the art, cultural, and creative industries for both the people conducting the labor and the people receiving the labor (organizations).

Please note, this open call is searching for text and visual contributors who have experience in the Nordics (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland, as well as the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland). E.g. have conducted work in the Nordics (you do not need to be from or currently based in the Nordics).

It features public programs including a symposium, an art book fair, and hands-on workshops in letterpress and risograph printing etc. These activities support the production and exchange of both creative and scholarly works, with creative outputs such as zines, artist books, comics, graphic novels, and experimental prints.

Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair 2024

Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair is an annual independent publisher event that takes place in Vienna, Austria. It is focused on showcasing self-published publications and independent works in the fields of art, design, literature, culture and more. The fair provides a platform for artists, writers, and publishers, galleries, institutions and bookshops: to present and sell their works to a wider audience, as well as to network and connect with others in the scene.

mapping and map as a social construct

We are happy to announce that we are making a zine in the topic of cultural mapping and map as a social construct.

Our goal is to make independent and nomadic artistic and cultural work visible, by using this map as a tool for empowerment and connection rather than a fixed device created by institutional power. We encourage practices that are normally excluded from traditional cultural circuits.

We accept new or already existing works/visual material that reflect on this topic from many disciplines; visual arts, performance art, street art, public art, multimedia art, sound art, socially engaged projects, poetry, essay, etc...
