(re)imagining Marco Polo’s journey

CIFRA, a curated streaming platform for new media art, launches an open call celebrating Marco Polo's figure and journey. Regarded as one of the pioneers in building bridges between East and West, we should not forget the influence of his travels and travelogues on the state of the world we live in, with European colonial expansion and capitalist globalization.

We are interested in new media artists' existing works / projects.

The works will be selected by a jury composed of Menene Gras Balaguer (art critic, philosopher, director of culture and exhibitions at Casa Asia), Alessandra Bergamaschi (Italian-Brazilian researcher and curator), Zairong Xiang (curator, author, art educator).
