Person and the Otherness of Nature

Pragmata Collective is now inviting submissions for the July 2020 online show: Person and the Otherness of Nature. We will be hosting a free online exhibition for artists all over the world, to give an opportunity to try new works, revisit old projects and expand networks. This is an opportunity to submit your work for consideration for a curated virtual show happening on the 20th of July. 

The exhibition will take place on a coded HTML website, it will last two weeks starting on the 20th of July, with live opening night on the day. There is no submission fee, and it is open to any media that will suit the virtual environment. The open call ends on the 15th of June, and we will be getting back to applicants by the 21st of June. 

Person and the Otherness of Nature will be a space to think about what we are in relation to artworks, different environments and the Earth: 

“In the artwork the subject is neither the observer nor the creator nor absolute spirit, but rather spirit bound up with, performed and mediated by the object” (Adorno, Aesthetic Theory)

Pragmata Collective is the collaborative practice of artists Adele Lazzeri and Toby Tobias Kidd. Formed out of a project in 2017 in Zagreb at GMK Gallery, we have been working on various projects since, developing a joint practice sitting outside yet within our two personal artistic preoccupations.
