OUR MISSION
photo l.a.has celebrated and brought together the photography + art community from around the world for 30 years. It is with this mission that we present FOCUS photo l.a. a biannual competition open to help provide emerging & mid-career artists/photographers a platform to promote their work and expand career opportunities.

THE COMPETITION
FOCUS photo l.a.Finalists are determined by a panel of renowned art + photography experts who select the Top 20 photographers from the completed submissions. Entrants can submit a MAXIMUM of ten (10) photographs for consideration for a nominal fee of $60 USD.

All finalists will have his or her winning photograph professionally printed by our partner The Iconand expertly framed for a special live Los Angeles exhibition pop-up in September! All finalists will also be invited by our partner Open Showto present their projects at a live programming event during the Los Angeles exhibition ~ please note, final shortlist of artist talk presentations will be curated by organizers for scheduling purposes.

NEW IN 2021 ~ One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected from the Top 20 Finalists by the jury and receive a $1000 cash award.

Submissions are open to all Artists & Photographers working in all themes, types, and genres of photography. No original works will be exhibited.
