OPEN CALL for young artists 
Participate in the online group exhibition ESCAPE in/ out

ESCAPE in/ out is an online group exhibition that will happen from 19th April to 19th May on the global platform for art follow.art. We invite young artists under the age of 30 to propose their works that resonate with the exhibition’s concept. 20 artists will be selected for the participation among other invited international talents.

Concept

Escapism takes on numerous forms in our lives, ranging from serene hideaways to thrilling adventures. It's an omnipresent phenomenon that surrounds us all, from the moment we dive into a stranger's life on social media, to the thrill of a new destination, the surreal nature of daydreaming during a work meeting, or the respite of a happy song to hide our pain. The process of escapism is both physical and ethereal, as the distance travelled extends beyond the known dimensions of our lives. The destination is defined by the reality we are escaping from, as our minds and bodies seek solace in the unknown.

This exhibition seeks to explore the myriad of directions and destinations of escapism through the eyes of talented artists. It offers an opportunity to engage with alternate realities and ponder the transformative potential of these worlds. You are encouraged to explore the dimensions of these worlds and their proximity to reality. How these islands of relief may  impact our perception of reality? 

The exhibition will not seek to answer the question of whether art is a form of escapism, but instead will focus on the beauty and mystery of the worlds that artists have created. So step inside and discover just how far these worlds can take us.

Requirements 

• Age: 18 - 30 years old 

• Artwork: The artwork should be ready and well-photographed until the expiration of the call in order to be eligible for the participation. You can propose up to 3 artworks.

• Technique and medium: Only physical and two-dimensional works are eligible for participation. Nevertheless, we welcome any type of the medium, art technique and size. 

Please, note that we can’t accept digital art, video art, sculptures and installations.
