"The infinite possibilities" OPEN CALL - Art in prevalence VS Art in tradition

City:

Eligibility:

Yutong:

“About the infinite possibilities, Time of art is narrative in life, Art of time is material in aesthetics. The infinite timeline combines with human memory, The past and new memories stimulate the infinite possibilities of art."

"Behind each work of art narrates powerful and colorful. An artist I interviewed commented on the value of art, "The value of art lies in the fact that it presents the audience not the enjoyment of beauty, but also the transformation of the positive." I think that's the power of narrative in art. It is strong enough to be all-embracing and big enough to go far beyond the field and scope of this discipline. It is like a warm spring water, which always keeps the fresh power no matter how long it existed. Such a living spring water swallows the modern "new" and "old" and runs straight towards the end of the universe.”

Beiya:

“About the infinite possibilities, People used to be embedded in the world, But now people are beginning to break away from the matrix, and become an individual."

"After getting used to the digital world, we have recently begun to be enveloped by a new concept - Metaverse. Metaverse contains all the technology available to us. When we got this news, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Because our acceptance of this “fast world” , we seem to have a premonition this “magic world” will come into our life in future. So, what we can't match on? Is it in the past?Is it in the present? What we're going to call the “old”, and how it's going to combine with the “new”. At this point, we split into a myriad of possibilities as we perceive the world differently. ”

The infinite possibilities are the original intention of our Open Call. We boldly put forward the strategy of contributions in the standpoint - camp. Under the tide of the new era, we will immerse the collision of two standpoint - camps “the prevalence” and “the tradition” together.

(Rules)

This online exhibition will be differences. Artists, designers, or contributors need to defend their own “camp”, and are required to write their arguments in addition to their works.

We do not limit the media, major or technology, but before submission, you will need to choose your camp and write a sentence or a paragraph to make a statement, you need to expend why you choose this “camp”.

Defense camp: Art in prevalence VS Art in tradition

(Note: the overall two camps, no win or lose points. The two camps are randomly placed on the same page, each representing its own unique point of view. Opinions are just opinions, they don't rise to irrelevant areas like personality and morality, so choose according to your own research and design.)

Camp 1: Art in prevalence

A unique era in the process of people's communication generated from the vocabulary. The convenience of the network opened an eye on our head, leading us to the place we cannot reach and reforming our thinking. The prevalence camp works around current trends and emerging topics. The core of this camp is artist and designer who has a keen eye for what is happening now. How many possibilities of the future are being promoted by your infinite prevalence art possibilities?

Camp 2: Art in tradition

Under the agitation of the new trend, derived a lot of new things, at the same time, some of the old things we are familiar with are facing extinction and the elimination of The Times. They have stepped out of the current and become the edge of the era. The old thing is facing rebirth. It can be a medium, a material, or a memorial idea... The core of this camp is the rebirth and redemption of old "objects" in this new time. Your traditional things in countless kinds of regeneration and remodeling, how many chaotic possibilities could be in here?

There is no birth without a reason, and no death beyond salvation and eternity. In the era of development, we are holding on to the gift of the past with one hand and pulling forward. The other hand pushed forward. Ahead was a dark mist, which added to the mystery and inspired the curiosity of infinite exploration. Our identity is constantly changing, our culture is constantly updated, and there is never any immutable thing. In the constant change, we are looking for the shadow that we are no longer familiar with. It is also in this constant change that we are surprised to explore many unknown things.

History is moving forward. We are looking forward and promoting your countless possibilities. Moreover, we believe in those possibilities coming true. It is an ideal, a responsibility, and a belief.
