Project / Forward: 2047

Call Out for Moving Image Artists from the Inner West, Sydney, NSW, Australia

We are looking for new media, projection, video and artists who can communicate via moving image to submit for MG's Global Projection Festival initiative, which has been seen in Kenya, Indonesia, Colombia, Nepal, Jordan, Peru, Italy, Cambodia, Philippines, Bangladesh, Finland, Spain, Austria, USA and Hong Kong.

Project/Forward: 2047 will be part of the Inner West Fest on 26 March and 5 artists will be commissioned to create works that are relevant for the local community and the local perspective.

Works are to be a moving image work that responds or aligns to the theme. It can be an animation, illustration, video, a rendering, a loop, timelapse, stop-motion: anything that moves. .

TO SUBMIT:

1 - Your work idea must align with or respond to the concept. An envisioning of the world in 2047, and how it relates to your local community in the Inner West of Sydney

2 - It should be a solutions-based concept: no violence, apocalyptic themes or doomism is relevant to this project

3- It must consider and respect the local community and its diversity

4 - We are looking to commission 5 works that are no longer than 2 mins in length, however will consider longer if there is a compelling reason to do so

We will be selecting a series of works to accompany our guest invited artists and select Micro Galleries Collective works. We will inform you if your work was successful.

Project / Forward
A weekend-long global projection art festival with pop-up events throughout the year. We curate a (approx 45 min) video package of artworks from artists all over the world who want to create a solutions-based, inspiring society. The project aims to be shown in under-resourced spaces that don't usually get to see projection art and host spaces anywhere in the world, hosted by MG Collaborators who get to see artists they wouldn't normally see. The projection spaces will be a space not usually used for cultural/art activity such as a temple, a bridge, a house, a brick wall, a monument, a laneway.
