Becoming an Octopus – Pragovka Summer School

Becoming an Octopus focuses on imaginaries of water and fluidity. This year’s Summer School will address a dual perspective. In the first part of the program, we will understand water not as a resource or capital, but as a medium, a place or environment for relaxation, storytelling, joy, curiosity and life. In the second part of the program, we will focus on fluidity as a survival strategy and an act of resistance in a rigid world. 

The program creates space for experimental approaches that connect different perspectives – from art to philosophy, spirituality, post-capitalist theory, ecology, gender studies to posthumanism. Through online and offline lectures, artist talks, screenings, performances, practical workshops and field research, participants will engage in collective and bodily-based learning.

This Summer School offers an interdisciplinary platform that connects artists, researchers, curators and other professionals to jointly search for new ways of perceiving and understanding fluid forms of being through contemporary art.
