Archetypes

An archetype has light and shadow. It is a structural force that connects the imagination with reality. Through stories, cultures, archives, and legends, its psycho-mythical nature contains the history of humanity. It represents the collective within the individual, and the individual within the collective. It is the link between the known and the unknown, between the natural, and the distorted. And as every structure of polarity, it has dual potential – to be entrapping, or offer a route to evolution, questioning whether it controls you or you can be in control of it. Being faced, translated, admitted, the archetype can open the mind to liberation – where one resists being overpowered by innate forces and begins to understand them on a mental, intellectual level. And to recognise and navigate it becomes a source of self-knowledge. And self-realization. Our next show takes on the Archetypes as a metaphor for a phenomenon that is shaped by universal projections of the familiar, yet unresolved. A pattern, a symbol, event or behaviour that signalizes stereotypical form, only to let us acknowledge and understand the ‘given’ place of all existing.

We invite artists to apply for our upcoming curated exhibition at Glena Art Studio. It will take place between the 30th of April and the 23rd of May, with a Private view on the 30th of April at 6.30 pm. To be considered, please complete the submission form and include 3–5 images of your work.

Submission is free. A £40 participation fee applies only to selected artists after the application deadline.

All artworks must be well-presented and ready for installation. Participating artists are responsible for delivery and collection of their artworks.

The exhibition programme includes a professionally curated presentation, installation support, a public opening event with live music, a structured publicity campaign, visitor engagement throughout the exhibition period, and an organised artists’ talk.

Participating artists will receive both physical exhibition exposure and sustained online promotion across social media platforms and curated directories.

Your work will be introduced to potential collectors and dealers, and you will join a growing network of artists committed to mutual support, collaboration, and creative exchange.

With eight years of continuous development and officially established in the UK in 2022, Glena Art Studio has built a reputation for dynamic and engaging exhibitions.

Our own dedicated exhibiting space launched with Muse – Metamorphosis, which welcomed a wide audience during the Private View and live events, generating significan online and in person engagement, and 7% in sales.

The previous exhibition, Unmanifested, celebrarting another wide audience responce, offered a critical, focused view over a subject that, in its aligned interpretation, turned itno a solid, empowering ground to fasciitate the unquestionable influence of contemporary art, to invite and challenge its ability to imprint concepts right in the viewer’s perception.

Additionally, Muse – Masquerade Ball. Live music. Art., hosted at Candid Arts Gallery, sold 80 tickets for its live event, achieved strong attendance throughout the show, and secured a major artwork sale. The exhibition was later featured in a curator’s interview for Create! Magazine, and participating artists progressed to secure solo exhibitions and further professional opportunities. Emergency Art at Platform Southwark was a vibrant celebration of contemporary and conceptual art, drawing significant public engagement.
