Abandoned/ Special Edition

This open call invites artists working in various media, including painting, drawing, photography, textiles, digital art, collage, illustration, sculpture, ceramics, installation, design, contemporary objects, and many more.

The theme of the open call is 'Abandoned'.​

What does it mean to be left behind? Abandoned invites artists to explore absence, rupture, and the quiet after a departure. This theme extends beyond physical spaces—empty buildings, forgotten objects, and neglected landscapes—into emotional, social, and psychological terrains.

We welcome works that reflect on loss, memory, and transformation: the traces of what once was, the beauty within decay, and the tension between neglect and resilience. Consider what remains when purpose fades, when presence dissolves, or when something is deliberately or unintentionally left behind.

Is abandonment an ending, or can it become a beginning?

Each selected artist will receive a 2-6 page spread in print and digital magazines, including a biography, statement, interview, website, and 2-10 featured artworks. All published artists will receive a complimentary digital issue of the magazine, which will be promoted on our website/social media. In addition, you will receive the link for ordering the printed magazine. Each selected Writer will receive a 2-6 page spread in print and digital magazines, including their poems/stories, biography, and interview.

Moreover, the curatorial team will select a few exceptional artists for inclusion in their upcoming book edition titled '101 Contemporary Artists and More...'

Requirements for the submission: up to 12 photos (min. 300 dpi, JPEG/TIFF format), details of the work (title, medium, size, year), brief biography, artist statement (min 100 words each), website, and social media links.
