Genius Loci Weimar is seeking innovative ideas for the Facade Projection Festival on September 11th to 13th, 2026.
Applicants must submit a 30-second video clip outlining their design concept by June 14th, 23:59
This years festival explores the theme "Democracy and Society": examining the processes, tensions, and transformations that shape democratic systems today.
The main requirements for the competition include addressing the theme, creating an innovative audiovisual video mapping design, respecting the Genius Loci (the spirit of the location), and demonstrating a sophisticated understanding of the location's history and architecture.
There are 3 different historic buildings for projection-mappings. All entries will be evaluated by a selected jury. Then, on July 6, 2026 one winning production per building will be announced and showcased on rotation during the festival from September 11th to 13th.

Prizes Details:
For the realization, each awarded entry will receive a budget of 7.000 euros to develop a 5-minute video by the time of the festival.
Additionally, one of the winning works will be awarded a further 3.000 euros during the festival itself.
