Surreal Reality

We'd like to suggest you apply to our open call. Your artwork can be displayed in a small venue in Berlin, in the heart of a hip district Friedrichshain.

The topic states "Surreal Reality". What is it for you? Maybe it looks familiar to what we know, but some details make it weird? Or maybe it is a micro-world that is far from what we see every day? Or it is an imaginary world full of creatures beyond "normality"?

Art format:

- This part of the exhibition will feature photos or digital art on the given topic. The digital artwork will be printed in A3 format and framed in a black frame. Therefore the image quality should be sufficient for it.

- Your artwork can be photography, digital art, or generative art, as long as it fits the topic.

The format of the exhibition will be the following:

- During the daytime, the venue acts like a musical gear showroom, and a part of it will be dedicated to the exhibition, so your artwork will be displayed there;

- If you live not too far away and would like to ship us your business cards - feel free to do so, we'll make them accessible for the visitors.

- Also if you live in Berlin and want to bring your artwork already printed (in this case we can also accept other sizes) - contact us, the participation fee then will be much lower as we don’t need to print your work.

- The artworks will be displayed between 22.07.2022 and 27.07.2022.

- We suggest a few options for the artworks that haven’t been sold during the exhibition. We can either send it back to you, in this case, you bear the delivery and packaging cost, or we can destroy it after the exhibition. Also, you can give us consent that we can display it in other exhibitions in our gallery or in the shop until the end of August. After this period the same two options apply.

Monetization of your artwork.

- We will offer visitors the possibility to purchase the displayed artworks. In case of a purchase, we take a curator fee of 30% + the price of the frame if a visitor buys it with the frame.

Fee:

- The application fee is 30 euros;

- If you want to display more than one artwork, every next one is +20 euros (printing and framing);

- The application fee is to be sent to PayPal advt.ka@gmail.com with the description "Surreal Reality Photo application";

- Paying the application fee doesn't give a guarantee of your participation.

How to apply:

The artwork should be sent to the following email: advt.ka@gmail.com

In your email please include the following:

- Subject "Application for the Surreal Reality Photo exhibition".

- Link to download your artwork in good quality. You can use services like Dropbox or WeTransfer that allow you to share a download link to your file(s).

- Short bio of yourself, and the social networks that you'd like us to mention.

- A description of your artwork as you'd like it to be included in the printed materials (max 50 words). If the artwork has a name - please also include it.

- Screenshot/receipt confirming the payment of the fee (PayPal advt.ka@gmail.com).
