Open Call for Artists-in-Residence 2022

SCOPE BLN – Artists-in-Residence (AiR) program is announcing an open call to artists working in all fields of contemporary art. The start of the program is in February, 2022.

What does SCOPE BLN AiR offer?

• A single fully furnished room (about 22 sq. m.), shared kitchen and bathroom (with 2 other artists)
• A working studio (about 14 sq. m.)
• Guidance in exploring Berlin and its art scene
• Co-working sessions with the AiR director
• Attending 4 - 8 major exhibitions
• Open Studio and opportunity to present your work to the professional audience and the community of SCOPE BLN
• Solo Show at the SCOPE BLN Gallery with a duration of 1 month. The exhibition will be accompanied by public artists talk, photo and video documentation .

How much?

Total monthly cost paid by the artist in residence – 1000 €. SCOPE BLN will gladly provide letter of acceptance for the process of grants/ funding applications on your own terms.

What is the duration?

It is a long-term residence program with duration between 6 and 12 months.

Who can apply?

The open call is intended for artists working in the fields of contemporary painting, sculpture, installation, multimedia, video, film, photography, sound, performance or multidisciplinary forms without any restrictions on their age and gender.

What are the requirements?

• Interest in Berlin art scene
• A project in the field of contemporary art to work on during the residency
• Awareness of community requirements
• Good knowledge of English or German

Please note:

The jury will evaluate the applications and announce the results up to 3 weeks after deadline.

The selected artists will have to sign a preliminary agreement with SCOPE BLN and transfer a deposit of 10 % of the amount for their program which will be returned after the end of the residence.
