Open Call For Workshop Projects

In order to make the most of our mission to give even more space to art and educational projects in our 2024-2025 events and exhibition calendar, we invite you to realize your workshop projects at Zemin Berlin!

If you are a Berlin-based artist/curator/collective with a vision to make an impact through your practise, we invite you to submit your work to Zemin Art Space. We are looking for visionary projects that seek solidarity - projects that we can offer our space for free of charge. We welcome all visionaries. We do not have any theme limitations.

Join us in our mission to provide a democratic and safe space for artistic expression/experiments and collective action.

Open call requires but not limited to:
- Seminar / Lecture / Artist Talk programmes.
- Community and association meetings.
- Spiritual circles and practices.
- Tutorial program series where artists will introduce their techniques.
- Gastronomic presentations.
- Instructional and educational program series…

Eligibility:
- Zemin Berlin's open call is targeting all emerging / established visionaries, curators, artists and collectives living / working in Berlin or closer regions.
- All participants must be older than 18 years old.
- Fluency in English.

Guidelines:
- Both one-day and weekly workshop series will be accepted.
- We will welcome diverse mediums.
- Proposals must be conceptually concrete and understandable.
- Zemin Berlin strongly encourages inclusive and diverse project proposals that are having the intention of providing a creative and safe space for gender minorities, BIPoC, immigrant, disabled and marginelized groups.
- Projects that reinforce or perpetuate homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, racism, antisemitism or any form of discrimination/violence will not be evaluated.
- Proposals must be submitted in English.
- All applications submitted will be considered final and treated as such.
- Zemin Art Space & Gallery seeks for non-commercial projects and does not earn profits from workshops.

About Zemin Art Space:
Zemin Art Space was founded in 2019 with the aim of serving as a dynamic and inclusive gallery, nurturing artistic expression and recognizing space for diverse creative mediums. At the heart of our vision lies the desire to provide an inclusive platform for creative community projects and inspiring artistic activities, all brought to life by curators, theorists, and exiled artists/scholars from Berlin. Our non-profit approach and unwavering commitment to encouraging emerging talents and nurturing established creators propels us to the
forefront of Berlin’s artistic landscape.

Our commitment to art goes beyond gallery walls, as we actively participate in local events and collaborate with neighbourhood initiatives to promote inclusivity and mutual understanding. At Zemin Gallery, we believe in unlocking the full potential of Berlin as a vibrant city, sincerely supporting artistic growth, and creating a space for emerging/established talents to curate exhibits and engage in our lively local art scene.
