Magic Vessels | Containers of the Divine

All the scars on my body, all the bumps and bruises, all the muscles - that is a story of everything I have done. And it's not just my story. My ancestors who came before me gave me this vessel to sculpt and mold.

What is a vessel? How objects obtain a specific quality and special meaning for us?  What do we consider as sacred items and how artists translate this notion into art? And can this be considered mirror-wise? Are humans a kind of vessel? 

Empty or containers of something?

This group exhibition invites artists to explore the concept of a "vessel" through their creative work, delving into its literal, metaphorical, and historical significance.

A vessel can be an object, a human, a memory, or a cultural tradition that holds significance, power, or meaning. 

Artists are encouraged to consider the vessel as a sacred object imbued with magic, a symbol of personal or cultural identity, or a representation of the human experience.

Artists are invited to create works that not only represent the literal meaning of a vessel but also explore its metaphorical and historical significance across time and cultures.

Artist media accepted

The call for the exhibition is for  all artists exploring this idea, open to interpretations, in all sorts of media, such as painting, sculpture, printing, installation, textile art, mixed media.

There is a size limit for paintings and sculptures, not exceeding  100 cm wide and 200 cm height.

You can submit up to 5 images per submission (preferable JPEG high resolution  images , not less than 1920 x 1080 px)

There is a non-refundable submission fee of 20 euros for each submission.

Shipping & delivery of artworks

All selected artists are responsible for shipping and delivery of their artworks , costs included.

After the finissage of the exhibition, our team will handle repackaging and safely returning the artworks to the artists, if not sold. Costs for returning shipping is the responsibility of the artists.

Sales & costs

Peru does not intervene with any sales during the exhibition nor requires commission. If  a collector is interested in an artwork, we bring you in touch directly.

We do ask for a minimum exhibition fee though, for operational costs , opening night drinks, and exhibition preparation.

All selected artists are required the amount of 70 euros as participation fee, with the payment completed in time. There are no additional costs besides this.
