We are excited to announce the FrameBreak Hackathon, a unique event where individual artists will form teams and create exciting, cutting-edge exhibition projects. This Hackathon is your chance to collaborate with other creatives, push your boundaries, and showcase your work in a dynamic exhibition using FRMD’s state-of-the-art digital frames.
Event Overview:
Over four days, artists will team up to develop projects that center around digital art displayed on FRMD’s innovative frames. You’ll also have the option to incorporate physical media, like printed works or other alternative formats, to enhance your digital creations. The goal is simple: create something extraordinary, innovative, and ready to be showcased in a unique exhibition setting. The winning projects will be featured at the prestigious Mriya Gallery in NYC, allowing you to present your work in one of the world’s art capitals.

Hackathon Dates: October 3-6, 2024

Guidelines:

Eligibility: Open to individual artists working in any medium. Participants must be 18 years or older.

Team Formation: Participants will choose their teams based on complementary skills and shared interests. Teams will be formed at the start of the Hackathon, allowing participants to collaborate with others who share similar goals and creative visions.

Project Scope: Each team will be tasked with creating a cohesive exhibition plan that integrates digital and physical artworks, emphasizing innovation and audience engagement.

Originality: All projects must be developed during the Hackathon. Pre-existing works or concepts are not eligible.
Notification of Acceptance:

Applicants will be notified of their selection status by September 29, 2024. If selected, you will receive further instructions on how to prepare for the Hackathon.
Expectations:
Participants must fully engage in all hackathon activities, including workshops, lectures, and team collaboration sessions. Adherence to deadlines and active involvement in team discussions are crucial for a successful experience.
Prize Summary:
Win $3000 for project at Mriya NYC
Prizes Details:
Funding: The winners of the Hackathon will receive exhibition support. This funding is intended to cover costs associated with producing and executing their exhibition, including materials, transportation, installation, and other necessary expenses.
Utilization: The funds must be used to enhance the quality and presentation of the exhibition at Mriya NYC, ensuring that digital and physical artworks are displayed effectively.

Location:
Selected participants must upload and register on Slack, which will be used for communication and coordination throughout the Hackathon. Instructions on how to set this up will be provided after acceptance. The winners of the Hackathon will run the exhibition at the gallery 'Mriya', New York, USA.
