Nomad Art Prize

The Nomad Art Prize is an international award for the visual arts celebrating the dialogue between artistic creation and the places that inspire it. Founded on the belief that art is by its very nature nomadic — capable of crossing borders, cultures and contexts — the prize aims to discover 8 artists whose work embodies this spirit of movement.

Each edition takes place in a different city, creating a shifting geography of contemporary art. For 2026, Lisbon — with its layered history, maritime heritage and vibrant creative scene — is both backdrop and muse.

Theme 

In "Nomad Art Prize" the artists are invited to explore displacement, travel and the tension between roots and movement. 

Requirements & Application 

Open to artists of all nationalities, aged 16 and over. Each application may include 1 to 3 works. 

Selection & Prizes 

All applications are reviewed by an international jury of curators. The jury selects 8 artists. 

Residency & Exhibition 

All 8 selected artists are invited to a one-week creative residency in Lisbon. 

Rights 

Artists retain full ownership and copyright over their works.
