Call for Art: Lightness of Being International Exhibition and Catalog Juried by Sergio Gomez

Create! Magazine is pleased to announce our May 2025 open call for a new virtual exhibition and artist catalog titled Lightness of Being. Juried by internationally acclaimed artist and curator Sergio Gomez, this global opportunity invites artists to explore interpretations of lightness—emotional, spiritual, physical, or metaphorical.

Sergio Gomez is an internationally acclaimed visual artist, curator, educator, and creative entrepreneur. Known for his large-scale figurative abstraction paintings and expressive charcoal drawings, Sergio’s work has been shown in over 45 solo exhibitions across the United States, Italy, Mexico, Romania, and Austria.

As a curator, he has organized more than 100 exhibitions for notable institutions including:

• National Museum of Mexican Art

• Expo Chicago

• Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali (Turin)

He currently serves as Director of Exhibitions at the Zhou B. Art Center (Chicago), is the founder of 33 Contemporary Gallery, and co-founder of Art NXT Level® Academy, an educational platform for artists. He also hosts the Art NXT Level Podcast, which supports thousands of artists worldwide.

Eligibility:
Open to artists worldwide. All fine art mediums are accepted, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, fiber art, digital art, collage, and installation.
