Create! Magazine Call For Art: Print Magazine + Gallery Launch - Issue #47 Juried by The TAX Collection

Create! Magazine is thrilled to announce an open call for art, juried by Tanner Steslow and Max Berman, the curators, gallery owners, and art supporters of The TAX Collection. 

We are passionate about providing visibility and publishing opportunities to the art community through our platform and magazines. As an artist, you understand the immense value of sharing your work with new audiences, connecting with curators, and engaging with the leaders who shape the art world. That's why we are passionately committed to creating these avenues for you to thrive. All selected artists will receive a two-page spread, an online blog feature, and a social media post. 

Create! Magazine's Issue #47 isn't just a publication; it's a platform for your creativity to be seen and celebrated. 

Selected works will be included in the print issue available by the end of 2024 and distributed in indie bookstores and through gallery partners like Delaware Contemporary, Paradigm Art Gallery, and Square One Gallery. Artists can review and edit their spread before printing, and all featured artists will receive a free digital edition of the magazine.

About Our Guest Curators: The TAX Collection

Founded in 2015 by Tanner Steslow and Max Berman, The TAX Collection is a multi-modal curatorial platform aimed at providing agency to emerging and mid-career contemporary artists worldwide through public exhibitions, installations, and commercial projects. At their core, Steslow and Berman operate from the position that "without the artist, there would be no 'art'", advocating that in this digital age, now more than ever, artists can acquire the tools to control their own narrative, better negotiate their relationships with galleries, and develop independent, lasting relationships with their collectors and institutions. With almost a decade of experience curating and advising close to 100 exhibition programs and numerous public works projects, The TAX Collection continues to act as a champion for the 'artist' in all aspects of their practice.

For their latest venture, they've partnered with artist and entrepreneur Ted Collier to open Square One Gallery. Located in the historic Central West End of St. Louis, Missouri, Square One Gallery, established in 2024, strives to showcase contemporary artistic voices while connecting St. Louis to the greater international arts community with a diverse, global roster of exceptional artists.

Welcome to Create! Magazine, a vibrant platform that has been dedicated to uplifting and promoting the work of contemporary artists since its inception in 2013. Initially launched as Fresh Paint Magazine, we evolved into Create! Magazine in 2016 with a renewed vision: to shine a spotlight on the phenomenal talents of emerging artists across various mediums. Over the years, we have had the privilege of featuring thousands of artists worldwide, delving into the narratives, inspirations, and creative processes that fuel their work. In Issue #47, artists handpicked by Tax Collection were not only featured in our print and digital editions but also gained access to our extensive global online network of over 200,000 artists, curators, collectors, art professionals, and enthusiasts. Create! Magazine has been honored with features by prominent media outlets such as Colossal, NYPost, Apartment Therapy, and The Jealous Curator, to name a few. Additionally, we have forged partnerships with esteemed art fairs like Art Miami, Moniker, Affordable Art Fair, and Superfine, and collaborated with renowned brands like Minted.

Eligibility

Our calls for entry are open to all artists from every country unless we have a special edition that highlights a specific topic or interest. All styles and media are welcome. There are no educational requirements to apply to the open calls.

Requirements

• Artists may submit up to 10 individual pieces of work for consideration.

• Artists must ensure high quality of images; we recommend 300 dpi jpeg.

• Artwork images and bio must be uploaded directly to the form.

• Bio and statement must be under 300 words each.

• Artwork does not have to be for sale (you can submit work that's already been sold or is in a private collection).

• You can submit artwork that's been previously published.

Important Dates:

• Entry Deadline: June 15, 2024, 11:59 pm EST.

• All artists will be notified of the final decision by July 30, 2024. If your work is selected, you will receive further information at that time.
