The New Emergence Art Prize 2024

The New Emergence Art Prize 2024 offers a £1000 cash prize for the winner and a permanent feature in our online gallery for shortlisted artists. This is our sixth edition of the art prize, founded to champion and showcase living emerging artists from all backgrounds worldwide.

There is no set theme; we are excited to showcase the diverse range of contemporary art being created around the world today. We accept applications from all international artists aged 18 or over working in any medium.

The judges for The New Emergence Art Prize 2024 are Habib Hajallie RBA (Founder of New Emergence Art), Alex Zawadzki (Founder & Director of The Second Act Gallery) and Phoebe Boddy (Contemporary Artist).

Application fees are £15 for one work, £25 for two and £30 for three. The application fees go towards the prize money and admin costs.

our online gallery. We want to keep application fees as low as possible, so entries will cost only £12 for one artwork, £20 for two and £25 for three works (fees cover admin costs & contribute to the prize fund).

Habib Hajallie is the founder of New Emergence Art, he is an elected member of The Royal Society of British Artists, an honouree on Forbes’ prestigious 30 Under 30 list 2023, the winner of The UK New Artist of The Year Award 2022 and the winner of The Hermione Hammond Drawing Prize 2023 amongst other awards.

Alex Zawadzki is the founder and director of The Second Act gallery, established in the North of England and now touring between there and East London. The gallery delivers a programme with an emphasis on inclusion of artists from the North, as well as those from working class backgrounds.

Phoebe Boddy has been the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Figurative Art Prize at Mall Galleries, a nomination for the Kate Bryan Prize, and a SAATCHI Art Director's Pick. Boddy has exhibited extensively across europe. Her work

has been featured in FAD Magazine, Art Rabbit, Art Plugged, & Sheer Luxe.
