Since its creation, Live Works has been conceived as a gathering of living bodies as well as a moment of strong proximity allowing forms of collective intelligence and commons of competences to emerge.

The current sanitary crisis imposes physical distancing upon us and creates deep uncertainty in how to imagine our futures together and the shape this togetherness could eventually take. 

In this evolving situation, Centrale Fies cannot be sure whether Live Works will be able to exist in its original form in July 2020 or if it will have to manifest itself differently. 

In response to the precariousness of our shared condition and out of the will to take responsibilities towards the artists who have been applying to Live Works Vol. 8, the curatorial team has decided to pursue the preparation of the forthcoming eighth edition of the program, baring in mind the potential need of rethinking the boundaries of its format. 

The deadline for applying to Live Works is therefore extended till 30th April 2020. 

The selected artists will be notified by the end of May and will be taking part actively in discussing with the curatorial team the eventual transformations Live Works Vol. 8 will have to go through in case enacting a collective experience this summer becomes impossible.

According to the future possibilities of our mobility and bodily co-existence, the selected artists and the curators will find together the best ways to develop Live Works Vol. 8, its research and production residency, its free school featuring critical and feedback sessions as well as its live program.
