Printmaking Residency

GATE44 invites artists and creatives to apply for a two-week, production-based printmaking residency in Milan. The program supports the development of a body of work with a focus on experimentation, mixed-media processes, and cross-disciplinary approaches, fostering dialogue between contemporary printmaking and contemporary art.

What’s offered:

• • 2 weeks funded production residency at our Milan facility within the period between April 2026 and April 2027 (specific dates to be determined in collaboration with the selected participant).

  • Technical assistance. A dedicated and skilled technical team providing guidance and hands-on support for the production of one or more editions.

  • A budget of 1000 € (one thousand) spendable in materials.

  • Private on-site apartment located next to the print studio

  • 24/7 access to the studio space

  • Basic print-shop materials and tools included (cleaning agents, solvents, rags, spatulas, squeegees, rollers, etc.)

Techniques available: Intaglio, relief printing, photo-etching, photo-lithography, screen-printing, letterpress, and digital fine-art printing.

Who can apply:

• Artists whose practice already includes printmaking

• Artists with basic knowledge of one or more printing techniques who want to expand their skills

• Artists interested in experimentation, interdisciplinary approaches, and combining multiple printmaking methods
