DucatoPrize 2025 Open Call

The 2025 edition of DucatoPrize has a free theme and the competition is open to artists and artist collectives of all nationalities, with no age restrictions, provided they meet the criteria outlined for each section.

Applicants may submit a single artwork, exclusively owned by the artist and available to be exhibited, in one of the two categories: Contemporary or Academy. The Prize welcomes all forms of visual expression, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, installation, video art, performance, sound installation, and photography.

Artists can apply from April 2 to May 31, 2025, by completing the online application form: https://ducatoprize.fillout.com/OpenCall2025 The submission deadline is May 31, 2025, at 12:00 PM (Rome, GMT+1), unless extensions are announced.

The DP25 jury consists of a Pre-selection Committee, composed of five members from the arts sector, and a main jury of five professionals, who together will select the most deserving artists from among the applicants. DucatoPrize will award Residency Prizes to several artists selected among the 40 finalists (Contemporary + Academy). Each Residency Prize consists of a three- to fourweek residency in different locations, both in Italy and abroad. Additionally, one winner per section will be selected from the five finalists and awarded: • €10,000 for the Contemporary section. • €1,000 for the Academy section. The jury and the organization may also assign additional residency, acquisition, or production grants.

April 2 – May 31, 2025: Open Call time-period to participate in the Prize.

July 2025: Announcement of the ten finalists on the Prize's social channels.

September 2025: Finalists shall send the selected works according to the specified modalities and timeframe (DucatoPrize will cover transport and logistics costs).

September 20: Opening of the DP25 exhibition featuring the finalist works and award ceremony for the winners.

September 20 – November 9, 2025: Exhibition period.

By November 30: Return shipment of the works to the artists.
