With this project Primo Piano LivinGallery, is investigating various fields of exploration, which conceive exhibition and creative planning as a device capable of triggering short circuits, involving communities and artists, activating virtuous relationships between disciplines and knowledge. The art project philosophy engaging in loose reflections ranging from a symbiotic human being-nature relationship to the respect for biodiversity, to the concept of travel as an experience and union of styles, cultures, tradition and visions.

Primo Piano Art Residency constitute an alternative educational program for independent artists to work in a community of peers who share a unique and rich in history environment. Our goal is to provide artists with a variety of stimulating experiences with which they can conceive new projects or deepen established creative practices.

Baroque Blue 2023 is the second edition of this residency andwill take place in one of the wonderful settings of the Ionian Salento: Santa Caterina di Nardò (Lecce). A magical place immersed in the Porto Selvaggio Natural Park Reserve, with watchtowers on the sea, with fragrant woods, bays with fresh and regenerating water, secret paths among ancient farms, abbeys and trulli, up to the caves (17 prehistoric settlements along the coast), of which 9 in the cavity of the Uluzzian Man, the oldest Homo Sapiens in Europe.

In this scenario, our next artists/navigators will experience the art of coexistence, conviviality, making art in natural places and of the knowledge. They will confront themselves with the past, they will visit places where the GENIUS LOCI is still present among the stones and scents of this authentic and conservative land of values. Residents will be hosted in a villa immersed in the nature reserve of Park and less than 100mt from the Ionian Sea. Primo Piano will provide in addition to accommodation also to food, tours, panel discussion with round table and more.

All residents will receive the Award Acknowledgement Certificate  and the works created on site, will be documented, and exhibited on the last day also through video projections during the final party with the artists and the audience.
