The residency – Baroque Blue Ionian SeArt Residency is an art project signed by Primo Piano LivinGallery that sees protagonists in each one edition, visual artists and performers and their art curator Dores Sacquegna, in one of the most beautiful places in the Ionian Salento: Santa Caterina di Nardò and Porto Selvaggio Natural Park Reserve  in the province of Lecce, Italy. In this scenario, the residents-adventurers will experience the art of coexistence, conviviality, and activities, living in close and deep contact with the luxuriant nature. Artists will immerse themselves in the fresh and regenerating waters of the Ionian Sea, they will visit the places of the Genius Loci and they will do their works with multimedia technique or performances in situ. The common denominator of the project is the NATURE, as a powerful guide of one’s own growth path. At the end of the residency, the works produced are exhibited to the public on the last day before departure, during an event with a Thanksgiving Ceremony to Mother Earth.The residency is a contribution in shaping a new and sound model for sustainable and responsible development and tourism, amplifying and improving the relationship between human beings and the environment. Each edition is different to give the opportunity to artists, coming from various backgrounds and cultures to confront themselves with a highly suggestive landscape context open up to a fertile dialogue with the local community, artists and art lovers.

The Workshops “Impress the nature” - As our ancestors left the footprints of their passage on earth, we too will leave our creative footprint of the nature that surrounds us. The workshop offers residents the opportunity to learn some experimental techniques of printmaking and to create plates with the theme of nature. The techniques considered are: Monotype, Collograph, Collage and Dry Printing.

Mission – Primo Piano’s mission is to provide artists with a variety of stimulating experiences with which they can conceive new projects or deepen established creative practices.
