Small Shifts

Unbound (UNBD) is a contemporary art space in Seoul, dedicated to supporting artists through exhibitions and collaborative projects. UNBD hosts in-person exhibitions and events while also extending its reach through international online open calls that invite global artists to participate and present their work in our digital programs.

By offering the conditions to explore possibilities and bring ideas to life, UNBD provides artists with direct access to cultural resources, knowledge, and diverse artistic practices. Located in a dynamic urban environment, the gallery fosters cross-pollination across disciplines, encouraging experimentation and unique collaborations. Through its physical space and online initiatives, UNBD positions itself as a platform where emerging and established artists alike can connect, innovate, and share their practices with a wider audience.

Open Call: Small Shifts

We are pleased to invite artists from all backgrounds and disciplines to participate in Small Shifts, an online exhibition presented by UNBD. This open call aims to gather diverse perspectives and voices, creating a shared space for distinct artistic visions to meet and resonate.

Small Shifts

Small Shifts is an open call that focuses on the subtle and often overlooked changes found within an artist's everyday surroundings, studio environment, and immediate world. For artists, change does not always arrive in dramatic or clearly defined forms. More often, it emerges quietly through shifts in emotion, changes in perspective, evolving relationships, or the small differences that appear within daily routines. Through this open call, Unbound seeks to explore how these seemingly minor yet meaningful transformations become the source of new sensations, images, and narratives. We welcome submissions across all media and formats—including drawings, videos, paintings, installation, and experimental approaches—that register these moments of quiet change through the artist's own experiences and observations.

Exhibition Platform – NEMO All selected works will be presented on NEMO, a dedicated online exhibition platform hosted on our website. Artists' works will be installed and presented within this unique virtual environment.  

Submission Guidelines

• Eligibility: Open to all artists, regardless of age, nationality, or career stage.

• Theme:  We invite works that respond to Small Shifts through the artist's own experiences and observations. Submissions may capture subtle transformations within daily routines, shifts in emotion or perspective, or the quiet differences that emerge within a studio environment or immediate world. We welcome diverse and personal interpretations across all media and formats.

• Submission Limit: Up to 3 works per artist (JPG or PNG, 300 dpi minimum).

• Participation Fee: $15 (via PayPal).

• Benefits for Selected Artists:

• Dedicated online exhibition page hosted by UNBD

• Inclusion in an online catalogue (Link) 

• Additional exposure through a Korea-based online art platform  

• Social media promotion across our channels
