InterAct - group exhibition opportunity (London)

Artist & Curator Melissa Vipritskaya Topal (@melissavtopal) and Curator Zoë Goetzmann (@byzoesera) are teaming up again to invite artists to participate in a group exhibition that redefines the relationship between art and audience - breaking the “invisible” or “fourth wall” between artist, artwork & the ‘white-walled’ traditions of the art world and gallery spaces.

We invite artists to participate in a group exhibition that redefines the relationship between art and audience. 

This exhibition aims to challenge the conventional “do not touch” rule that dominates galleries and museums, fostering a space where interaction and engagement are not only allowed but encouraged.

About the Exhibition: Our upcoming exhibition seeks to transform the traditional art viewing experience. We believe that art should be a multi-sensory encounter, offering viewers the opportunity to engage with works.

We are looking for artists who are eager to break down the invisible walls between art and the audience, creating pieces that invite touch, interaction, and participation.

We are looking for:

• Interactive Installations: Artworks that require viewer interaction to be experienced or understood fully. 
• Tactile Art: Art Pieces designed to be touched, felt and explored by hand.
• Multi-sensory Experiences: Artworks that incorporates sound, smell, touch and other senses beyond sight (text-based, poetic art pieces). Performance pieces also included. 
• Participatory Projects: Art that inspires or evolves from audience participation. 
• Innovative Use of Technology: Digital or virtual art (or film) that encourages a hands-on approach or immersive interaction. 

ELIGIBILITY:

UK-based artists are all welcome to submit for the exhibition.
Work submitted must be made within the last 2 years (2022 - 2024).

Deadline for Application: 18 of December 2024

All submissions must be received by 3rd of December, 2024. Make sure to complete your application and submit your artwork by this date to be considered for the exhibition. Transportation costs `(must be arranged by artist).
