Global Conversation 2020 (UN75)
Category:
Artistic field:
Eligibility:
The 2nd Round of Global Conversation 2020 - a humanity-focused group art exhibition brought to you by the United Nations UN75, F.99 and IKONOSPACE. We are inviting Artists of all types to participate in this global group art exhibition.
This exhibition celebrates the United Nations UN75 Anniversary theme of creating the largest ‘Global Conversation’ ever and hits a variety of tones exploring critical issues such as plastic waste, deforestation, capitalism, pandemics, refugee displacement, police brutality and more. We are looking for artwork that further illustrates the urgent need to respond to global issues and engage in uncomfortable conversations that can hopefully lead to practical solutions via national policy action or better, neighborhood policy action.
Applications for Global Conversation's second round are now open - please register at F-99.org/globalconversation to participate.
The theme of the exhibition is 'International Social Improvement' within the context of creating art that tells a story of how you feel about the pressing issues confronting humanity.
The 1st round brought in 350+ Artists submissions from around the world, totaling 1700 artworks with only 99 being selected by the UN75 Exhibition Committee and exhibition Curator Gilléad-Gaari Mziray. In future rounds we hope to surpass this number and welcome more artists to the conversation.

The leading judgment criteria for any artist interested in participating in Global Conversation 2020 art exhibition is to tell a story, transport knowledge, give community perspective, create to emotionally captivate and last but not least, make the intention to make an impact with your art. Thus, we're calling all artists who are radical in spirit and willing to express their right to freedom of expression to the nth degree. We insist that you dive into these issues fearlessly as the above directly and indirectly effects each of us. Take this international open call as an opportunity for Artists who operate outside the box and care deeply about relevant issues to take the global stage.
The 1st round exhibition opened during the opening weeks of the UN General Assembly. The 2nd round will be opening on another special day TBA. We want to trigger ambitious action, peaceful solidarity and practical solutions around the UN mandate for their 75th anniversary.
This special anniversary is about creating the largest global conversation on the role of global cooperation in building the future we all want and F.99 wants to help make the conversation larger by raising the voice of art and the role of Artists in society to create a vehicle for artists we curate to be invited to take part in discussions on a local and global level about social, political, ecological and infrastructural issues. Good luck to you all!
