Free open call: Fantasy artwork, stalls, workshops, performance art

West Art Collective presents a double event running one weekend after the other, Ethereal 3.0 & 3.5, our fantasy art and music events! Please read all the information below before applying.

So how does the application work for two events?

• You have the option to apply for either event or for both in the form below.
• • If applying for both, please state whether your answer is for either event by saying 'Light' or 'Dark' Ethereal in the question box.

What is the difference between Light and Dark Ethereal?

• Light Ethereal (3.0) will be hosted at Antwerp Mansion on September 20th from 18:00-23:00. Light Ethereal is primarily a creative event with an large scale art exhibition at its core, this is themed to positive interpretations of fantasy. 

• Dark Ethereal (3.5) will be hosted at Rebellion on September 28th from 23:00-04:00.  Dark Ethereal is primarily a music event, this is themed to dark interpretations of fantasy. 

• Both have lots of creative elements such as performances, side quests, market stalls and workshops.
• Your artwork must suit the theme of each event.

Antwerp mansion details:

• We are accepting artwork, installations, video and sculpture. Got an idea? Drop us a message.
• Please note we hang our wall artwork (bar prints) on picture rails and hooks.
• Art drop off: Is Monday the 16th of September 16:00-19:00 at the mansion, if you cannot make this please arrange to drop your work off earlier. Art will not be accepted late.
• Packaging: Please use reusable packaging such as folders, bags, sheets and boxes over bubble wrap and plastic wrap. Your packaging will be stored in our Green Room.
• Art Collection: Please collect artwork either the day of the event, an arranged time the next day or from Antwerp Mansion within 1 week.
• Antwerp Mansion is not wheelchair accessible - for full access report and more info see here.
• Antwerp Mansion is bring your own booze.
• Street parking but please check restrictions.

Rebellion details: 

• We are accepting artwork (installations & prints only, no canvas or frames), sculpture and video. Got an idea? Drop us a message.
• Rebellion security operate checks similar to at the airport. They will search your bags upon arrival. Your water bottles will be emptied at the door and can be refilled inside. 
• Art drop off: We have a tight turn around for this event as there is an event on before ours with a minor packdown & set up overlap. Install is on the event night 28/08/24 at 22:00.
• Packaging: Please use reusable packaging such as folders, bags, sheets and boxes over bubble wrap and plastic wrap. Your packaging will be stored in our Green Room.
• Art Collection: Please collect artwork either the day of the event, an arranged time the next day or from Antwerp Mansion within 1 week.
• Rebellion is wheelchair accessible - for full access report and more info see here.
• This event is primarily a music event so there will be loud bass music and flashing lights.
• Ear plugs provided at the bar.
• Street parking but please check restrictions.

Artwork:

• We are accepting wall pieces, sculpture, video, interactive pieces, installations etc.
• Your artwork must be complete before submitting.
• Key words: Fantasy/Mystical/Celestial/Folklore.
• In regardless to wall artwork, we are only accepting prints for Dark Ethereal 3.5 at Rebellion alongside sculpture, installations, video etc 
• Your artwork must be in line with the theme of the event.

Tickets:

• Those involved are on guest list
• We have never received funding - our ticket sales are how we fund our events.
• Tickets are £5-15. Please buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment if we sell out.
