How does a photographer frame a scene? Inevitably, it is an act of choosing: what goes in, what goes out? Covid-19 has radically reconfigured our spatial coordinates, and introduced new frames. Places that were once occupied are left vacant while others, such as homes and parks have taken on a greater importance.

About the Juror:

Jacqui Palumbo is a writer + producer for CNN Style. At Artsy she was a senior editor dedicated to visual culture coverage, which includes photography, design, and art through a pop culture lens. She spent several years at PDN as the editor of its magazines for aspiring photographers, PDNedu and Emerging Photographer.

About the Gallery:
Site:Brooklyn Gallery is dedicated to exhibiting the current practice of contemporary artists.

We are taking Site:Brooklyn online and on the road, with a new series of interactive exhibitions. Our goal remains the same, to connect artists with an expert and diverse set of jurors through the open call format. Our new program focuses on online open call exhibitions, selected by a cast of new jurors, solo artist features, and spotlights. As safety and regulations permit, we aim to host a number of exhibitions around the country.

Online Exhibition: March 1 – March 29, 2021
 

Eligibility:
This is a juried exhibition for artists working in photography and video. This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older.

Submissions and fees:
Only original works may be submitted. The fee is $25.00 for up to three (3) images, $10 for each additional image. If adding additional images please do so prior to check out.
All entries must be registered/received by February 1, 2021 11:59 PM MT
All entry fees are non-refundable.

Presentation:

Once accepted, artists will be required to upload high-res photo files of their work. 

Sales/Commissions:
All artwork must be priced for sale.
Artwork cannot be withdrawn before the end of the exhibit.
Site:Brooklyn will retain a 50% commission on all exhibition sales. The price represented on the artist entry form will be the sale price.
