Call for New Artist Members

FIRST STREET GALLERY is looking for visual artists to join our gallery, professionals devoted to the creation of artwork reflecting mastery of their craft and cultivation of a distinctive personal vision. We have a small number of openings for US resident In-town, Out-of-town, and Affiliate Membership.

First Street Gallery is a nonprofit artist-run gallery in the Chelsea art district in NYC. The Gallery represents a diverse group of emerging, mid-career, and established 2D and 3D visual artists, working in a wide variety of media and styles.

Benefits for In-town and Out-of-town Members include:

• An annual group show
• Regularly scheduled solo shows
• Full-time Gallery Administrator’s ongoing support from the planning stages through the run of their show
• Artist’s Portfolio on the Gallery’s website
• Representation on the art-marketing website Artsy
• No commission taken on sales in the Gallery
• Robust social media and publicity programs ensure your work reaches critics, curators, collectors, artists, galleries, and art enthusiasts

Benefits for Affiliate Members include all of the above, with the exception of scheduled solo shows.

We are currently waiving the initiation fee for new members. We encourage interested artists to apply at this time.

The Curatorial Committee will hold its final review of membership applications for the season on June 18, 2025, with a pause until September. Applications for Membership are accepted year-round through the Gallery's website and reviewed by the committee September - June.
