San Marcos Studio Tour

MotherShip Studios presents the inaugural San Marcos Studio Tour! Anticipated to be the first of
many years to come, this tour will include artists' studios within the San Marcos and Martindale
city limits. It will begin with a kick-off event at MotherShip Studios on Friday, March 31st, and will
run for the weekend of April 1st and 2nd from 12:00 pm- 6:00 pm.
Additionally, to bring the community together and help artists expand their viewership,
MotherShip Studios will host a group exhibition of all participating artists running for the duration
of the tour.
Participation is open to all artists living or working in the San Marcos and Martindale city limits.
All media is accepted for general tour participation. For the group exhibition, the artwork is
limited to wall-mounted 2D and 3D pieces 18" x 18" or smaller, and free-standing 3D objects no
higher than 18" to fit on a pedestal.
Your entry will come with a stop number on the tour map, a page in the artist catalog with a
photo of your artwork and artist's statement/bio, and an art piece in the group exhibition to be
held at MotherShip Studios. If an artist does not have a studio to include on the tour but
still wishes to be involved, they may still complete the entry to be a part of the catalog
and group exhibition.
Each artist will receive a free catalog, map, and tour sign with an assigned stop number to place
in their yard or window to help direct visitors.
All proceeds from the entry fee go towards supporting the tour.

Student Entry: $35

MotherShip Studios is an emerging arts studio and gallery located between San Marcos and
Martindale along San Marcos Hwy 80. Our goals include community development of the San
Marcos area arts scene and providing affordable studio space for artists.
