Vibrant Visions 2

Forty thousand years ago, the human color palette was limited to just five pigments—red, yellow, brown, black, and white—yet with them, early creators filled the caves of Sulawesi and Altamira with enduring visions. Centuries later, the color blue, ground from precious Lapis Lazuli, became more valuable than gold, reserved solely for religious artworks.

In the 1800-century, Pink, a blend of red and white, was assigned to boys and considered too bold for young girls. And as we moved on to the 2000-century, we invented Neon colors, an electrified spectrum that amplified the primary and secondary colors.

For many artists, color lies at the core of their creative practice. This November, our group exhibition “Vibrant Visions 2” welcomes submissions that showcase distinctive interpretations of color and spirited energy.
