2026 OTrak Chalk Walk Open Call

Join us for the third annual OTrak Chalk Walk on January 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Florida-based professional and student artists are invited to compete for prizes. Free to apply! Deadline: November 21, 2025.

Ocala Cultural Arts invites you to the third annual OTrak Chalk Walk on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stroll along the OTrak leading to Tuscawilla Art Park and watch professional and student artists transform the walkway with vibrant chalk creations inspired by “Hidden Gems of Florida.” Attendees can also enjoy live music, local artisan vendors, food trucks, and interactive, family-friendly art activities in the park.

This free community event includes a chalk art competition with cash prizes for professional artists and awards for student participants.

Who can participate:

• Florida-based professional artists with a valid IRS tax ID number

• Marion County middle and high school students

Application details:

• No application fees

• Students will compete in separate divisions with materials provided

• Professional artists must bring their own chalk and supplies (no paint or non-washable materials allowed)

Space details:

• Professional artists: one 6’ x 6’ square along the OTrak

• Student artists: one 4’ x 4’ square with materials provided on-site

Artists will be assigned a designated space along the OTrak, with location numbers provided in advance. They may arrive early to begin setting up and creating their artwork. All chalk designs must be original, family-friendly, and non-political. Artists will have until 3:30 p.m. to complete their work, with winners announced at 4:30 p.m.
