Call for Art | Under the Sky | Online Exhibition

Gallery Omata is excited to announce the exhibition theme Under the Sky. All artists from around the world working in 2D & 3D media including painting, sculpture, works on paper, printmaking, photography and mixed media are invited to submit entries. 

Theme: 

Being outside in nature is food for the soul, inspiring artists & poets alike. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was an American poet writing during the 19th century and was known for his romantic poems about American life, history, and nature. The lines from his poem A Day in the Sunshine captures how we experience wind blowing through trees and likens it to a symphony playing a musical score. The rustling of leaves and the whispering of the wind evokes sensations and feelings that can inspire artists in numerous ways, and its vivid imagery can translate into many different mediums of expression. 

We invite you to share your works that convey the beauty and power of nature in the Under the Sky exhibition.

I hear the wind among the trees

Playing celestial symphonies;

I see the branches downward bent,

Like keys of some great instrument.

And over me unrolls on high

The splendid scenery of the sky

Evaluation: based on creative expression, composition, demonstration of artistic intent based on the theme, mastery of the medium, aesthetic appreciation.

Award 1: Best in Show US$175 cash, promotion on website & Instagram

Award 2: Directors Choice US$75 cash, published on Artist of the Month page, promotion on website & Instagram 

Award 3: Curator's Choice Interview (value US$75) published on Curator's Choice page, promotion on website & Instagram 

Finalists : receive promotion on website & Instagram 

$36 for 6 images/ $30 for 3 images/ $15 for 1 image

Selection Process: Directors Choice. Each show is curated & juried by Gallery Director Sarah Gordon and an anonymous committee of jurors. Note no comments are given by the jurors.

How to Apply: Open to artists worldwide over the age of 18 years. Open to all fine art mediums (oil, acrylic, water colour, gouache, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, digital art) except video.
