The Call for Entries for the 2025 edition of the festival is now open!
L’Alternativa, Barcelona Independent Film Festival, celebrates its 32nd edition this year. We offer filmgoers, filmmakers and industry professionals a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy screenings and activities that value creative freedom, diversity, innovation, commitment and thought-provoking reflection.
L’Alternativa will take place from 13-23 Nov. 2025. The main onsite venue is the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona.
We accept features and shorts, fiction, nonfiction, essay, animation and experimental from Spain and worldwide.
Cash prizes.

€6,000 International Feature Film Prize
€3,000 International Short Film Prize
€6,000 Spanish Feature or Short Film Prize
