About Graphê Magazine

The idea for Graphê Magazine came to me whilst I was studying a BA (Hons) Photography degree in London. So many open calls I'd seen only benefitted the winner and the organisation running them. I decided that I wanted to create a community to support emerging artists!

Whilst the open calls do have a cost, we have tried to keep this minimal. This allows us to produce the magazine, but also hold exhibitions (more info on this below). We are also offering a bursary fund, that will be released onces a year to selected artist(s) to help further their creative career.

Finally, we are hoping to offer residencies to artists once the community really takes off - creating socially engaging pieces to address the issues being faced by communities in 2022.

Screw the 1% - Issue brief

An artistic interpretation of how the 1% are “screwing” the rest of society.

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the wealthiest people on the planet have increased their riches in ways never seen before - all the while, working-class families across the globe have suffered immensely.

This, inevitably, includes a lot of artists who have to work second jobs in order to support their artistic endeavours.

This initial edition of Graphê Magazine features a multi-disciplinary selection of artists, expressing their frustration and contempt at a system that has profited in a time of suffering for the rest of us.

What you get if successful

Featured in our quarterly magazine, a review and professional feedback of your submitted work by industry professionals and featured in a group exhibition in Autumn 2022 - where work will be sold COMMISSION FREE!

You will also have access to ongoing workshops, from how to organise live performances to professional practice sessions on how to best sell your artwork and market yourself.

Entry Fee

The fee for this open call is £10 and payment can be made here. Once payment has been made, you will be sent an email containing details on how to make your submission.
