Stems Plein Air Juried Show

CALL FOR ENTRIES:

Stems Plein Air Paint, an annual plein air competition in the Kansas City area, is proud to offer our event this summer as a national juried show, welcoming the many plein air artists whose summer events have been cancelled throughout the nation.  

Stems Plein Air Paint is now accepting submissions of plein air paintings created between May 11th and June 27th, 2020.  Submission deadline is June 27th, 2020. 

This national juried show is a unique opportunity for our nation’s Plein Air community to safely compete, win cash prizes, including a $2500 Best of Show, while promoting and selling works both online and
in a fine art gallery exhibition!  

With no painting event to attend and no restrictions on painting locales, this event offers a chance for artists to highlight the very
best of their summer stock of Plein Air paintings in an
established fine art gallery.

Our experienced panel of jurors will select the finest plein air works from artists all over the country for an exclusive feature show hosted by The Rice Gallery of Fine Art and brought to you in part by the Friends of Overland Park Arts, part of the Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park.

• Artists may submit 1 to 3 images of their best plein air work to be evaluated on an individual basis by our experienced panel of plein air jurors. 
• All selected paintings will be eligible for multiple CASH PRIZES, including a $2,500 Best of Show Prize! 
• All juried selections will be featured for sale in an exclusive gallery exhibition at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art, one of Kansas City’s premier fine art galleries.  This show will be promoted via print, mail, and social media advertising. (*Show opening date contingent on social distancing and public health guidelines). 
• All selected works will also be included in an online “digital art opening,” which will present images of each painting via Facebook, YouTube, and www.thericegallery.com among others for our online audience to purchase and enjoy. 
• Prize winners will also be featured in the sales tent at the Stems: A Garden Soiree event, a special one night only sale benefitting the Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park. 

A non-refundable online application fee of $25 will be collected from each artist submitting their works.  All entries must be submitted via CAFÉ (www.callforentry.org) no later than Friday, June 27, 2020 (6/27/2020).  CAFÉ is free and easy to join for all artists.
