Exhibition Description: With What are You Voting For, we ask — in this upcoming election year, what are the issues that will drive you to the polls? As the United States becomes more isolated from other countries due to its own policies and the current partisan political landscape, the lives of its citizens become more difficult and even dangerous through the erosion of social, health and environmental policies and even common decency. There is so much at stake in the November 2020 elections and there are so many issues that polarize and define us: racism, Black Lives Matter, women’s rights, abortion, the ERA, intersectionality, power, privilege, the Covid19 pandemic, masks, the climate crisis, unemployment, education, health care, jobs, the economy, voting, surveillance, privacy, constitutional rights . . .

With this exhibition, we ask you to share your voice and your vision, and to respond to the issues above in relation to policies, decisions, laws, protests, your experience, and attempts at civil dialogue and protest. Consider our democracy and the debate over freedom of speech, freedom of choice and freedom to choose to live as you wish. Whether you lean to the right or lean to the left, show us what you think through art that reflects and addresses these complex socio-cultural issues. Art submissions can range from literal to poetic, abstract to representational, and include social and political commentary.

Open to women-identified and non-binary artists from the local, national, and international community, Woman Made Gallery is seeking art that illustrates the issue(s) that will determine how they cast their votes this fall. This will be an on-line only exhibition, viewable on Woman Made Gallery’s website and social media channels.
