Vice & Virtue

The Annual Juried Regional Show is Art Center Sarasota’s largest and most prestigious juried exhibition, spanning all four of our galleries. This year, we invite artists to delve into the dualities of the human condition—Vice & Virtue.

By definition, vice represents behaviors deemed morally wrong by society, while virtue embodies excellence and integrity. But in today’s world, where do we draw the line? Through this theme, artists are challenged to explore the shifting boundaries of morality, shaped by cultural norms, religious beliefs, and political landscapes. What defines good and evil in contemporary society? And perhaps more intriguingly, does a gray area exist between them?

IMPORTANT DATES 

• Exhibition Dates: Thursday, May 22 - Saturday, August 2, 2025
• Online Submissions: Tuesday, February 18 - Sunday, April 27, 2025
• Notification of Acceptance: Artists will be notified by email of their submission status no later than Friday, May 2 by 5pm.
• In Person Receiving Days for Accepted Work:  Tuesday, May 13 - Wednesday, May 14, 10am-5pm.
• Shipping Accepted Work: Mailed Artwork must arrive between Monday, May 12 - Wednesday, May 14. Any work that is delivered after this date will not be included in the exhibition.
• Award Winners Notified: no later than Wednesday, May 21 at 5pm.  
• Opening Reception: Thursday, May 22, 5-7pm.
• Artwork Pickup In Person: Monday, August 4 & Tuesday, August 5, 2025, 10am-5pm
