Zeke’s : America’s Favorite Pastime

Zekes’ Coffee Shop and Maryland Art Place (MAP) are seeking artworks related to baseball, America’s favorite pastime. Baseball has played a major role throughout American history. We’re excited to get the ball rolling on this ‘call for artists’’ who pass their time painting, documenting, photographing or creating anything related to the love of the game! Let’s root, root, root for the ball team while knocking this show out of the park thanks to all our baseball art enthusiasts! Oriole themed artwork is encouraged but not required! 

The reception will be held at Zeke’s Coffee located at 4719 Harford Road on Saturday, April 15 between 10am and 12pm. 

To be considered for the show, please fill out the following Google Form 

Requirements:

-       Please deliver any selected artwork framed and ready to hang 

-       Artwork should reference baseball in some way 

-    All media welcome 

-   To submit more than one artwork you will have to complete a new google form for each submission.

-    Selected artwork must be delivered to Maryland Art Place located at 218 West Saratoga St. Baltimore, MD 21201 beginning Saturday, March 25 - Thursday, March 30th between the hours of 11am and 4pm. *MAP is closed Sunday and Monday. 

TIMELINE

Week of February 20:  Release Call to Artists

 Application Deadline 

Monday. March 13 @ Midnight

Deliberation: week of March 13

Notice of Acceptance: March 20 - March 24

Artwork Drop off: Monday, March 20  - Thursday March 30th

Installation: Friday, March 31st.

Opening Reception: Saturday,  April 15 @ 10am

ABOUT ZEKE’s: In 205 Thomas Rhodes sold his first pound of coffee at the Baltimore Farmers Market. One year later he opened a retail space on Harford Road in Lauraville, and further expanded his operations to a fully functioning café just down the street at 4719 Harford Road in 2017. www.zekescoffee.com
