State of Wonder NYC: Edition 7, "The Metropolitan Mind"

State of Wonder NYC is looking for artists for our seventh edition of the show! Our theme is “The Metropolitan Mind,” an exhibition which explores what being a native New Yorker is really about.

State of Wonder is a rotating, free-form group show split up into ten editions which encourage the viewer to gradually consider modern life from a variety of perspectives. Each artist is from New York City, all telling their story about life in the world’s most famous metropolitan area in the 2020s.

Artists are encouraged to write a love letter to their hometown with art that’s dedicated to native New Yorkers. What’s something that only someone in your circles or from this city might understand? What do you want to say, to those just stopping by for a bit, to the students and the tourists who call your home their home, to all those who subscribe to the cosmopolitan dream of New York City? This exhibition is a raw  and intimate look inside the mind of a metropolitan.

We accept all media and formats, including the visual arts, performance arts, new media, and sound art. We are also seeking all ages and backgrounds, but award priority to young and emerging artists. Artists MUST be born and/or raised in New York City to be considered.
