Call for Artists - The Sun - Wake up screaming #12

This solstice month, as the evening stretches out and nearly touches the morning, we are dedicating our pages to the exploration of The Sun. 

Are you an artist working with The Sun? Do you work with astrology? Perhaps you dedicate all of your art to a particular planet in our solar system? Maybe you worship the sun as your primary deity? Or perhaps you just enjoy sitting in the sun and watching the light it throws through the branches and leaves.

We are seeking artist working with the Solar energy, creative engineers working with solar power, those dancing in the sun’s light and digging around in the shadows it casts. We will look into solar consciousness, the study of astrology, rituals and celebrations of the sun, fire, the solar system, solar energy, the stars and star beings. For our final trick, we will attempt to merge the masculine energy of the sun with the feminine energy of the Moon!

Whatever your creative relationship with The Sun, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for:

The pages of edition #12 will be open to submissions from artists in all forms. We are looking primarily for artist’s work and research relating to or inspired by The Sun.  Perhaps you would like to put together some images and write some accompanying text <600 words telling us how the sun inspires you creatively. 

We are accepting art in all its forms: visual pieces, writing, illustration, painting, drawing, animation, music, sound, photography, video, multimedia, films, installations, movement, dance, noise, soundscapes, songs, collaborations, creative writing, poetry and short articles < 600 words.

Or any combination of the above – We particularly like amalgamation and cross-pollination between mediums. 

New work, old work, published or not we are an open space designed for artists to respond honestly to interesting themes that we hope teach us something about ourselves and how to be.
