OPEN CALL: BLACK AND WHITE IMAGES

SOFT PUBLISHING is a small and young independent publishing house focused on contemporary photography and art. It is interested in new photographic trends and emerging artists, and publishes photo books in limited editions.

We are now accepting submissions for our next photobook on the theme of Black & White images.

READ IN FULL BEFORE SUBMITTING

Artists from anywhere and of all ages are welcome to submit.

Artists are required to submit up to 10 images. You may apply with cohesive bodies of work or with individual images. All images must be at least 2000 px on one side.

There is no theme: all subjects are welcome.

In the Google Form, please include:

1 — Your email

2 — Artist’s name

3 — Instagram handle (if you have one)

4 — Describe your work in English (max 50 words)

5 — Please upload your work here, with each file named as follows: name_surname_1, name_surname_2, and so on

6 — Full captions: name surname, title, year of creation, medium (be specific), dimensions

Example: Ansel Adams, “Moonrise”, 1941, analog photography, 50×70 cm

Not all artists who submit will be accepted.

Artists whose work is selected will be contacted via email.

(*Selected images will be printed in black and white.)

FEES

Early Bird Fee: €10.00 (from June 1st, 2026 to July 10th, 2026)

Last Minute Fee: €16.00 (from July 11th, 2026 to August 31st, 2026)

The fee is intended to cover production costs, including printing, book promotion, the time dedicated to reviewing all submitted materials, and the book’s graphic design. Paying the fee does not automatically guarantee inclusion in the book. The fee is non‑refundable. 

The selected artists will receive a copy of the contract. You may choose either to pre‑order the book via the link or to pay the €10.00 fee by selecting one of the options below. Your submission is not valid unless you choose one of the two options.
