The core of the collective met @royalcollegeofart where it hosted its first motherhood exhibition ‘All Love Begins and Ends Here’ in 2025, exploring complex lived motherhood experiences beyond the Virgin and Child subject so venerated in European art. The show is being published as an article this month on the Mothers and Mothering throughout the Life Course journal, fall 2025.

The collective's latest project is, like its first, entitled after a phrase by a poet, William Ross Wallace: ’The Hand that Rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world’. It asks participating artists to respond to Middle Ages visionary abbess Hildegard of Bingen's interpretation of the female ‘as a vessel actively advancing, nourishing, purifying and caring for future generations’. Mother as a creative force, giver, an active medium, a travelling guardian in dialogue between the wider world and its future embedded in the growing child. Woman. Vessel. World.
