CATEGORIES

It is required that all works are unpublished, that they are not in competition for other prizes and that they are fully available to the participant, as their intellectual and physical property.

The following categories are available:

1. Effimera, Ephemeral section - to be created on the wall with water-soluble or biodegradable colours, which will be "eliminated" naturally by rain and the passage of time. Each artist will be free to choose between chalks and pastels, watercolors of various kinds, as well as food colorings, unconventional pigments and the like, provided that they are not harmful to the surface and do not alter it indefinitely, dimensions max 12 m2, 3x4 m .

2. Permanent section, “panel” - to be created on Panels provided by the Organizators staff, size maximum 12 m2, 3x4 m.

3. Permanent "wall" section, to be created on an external wall with colors resistant to atmospheric agents for exteriors, size maximum 12 m2, 3x4 m.

4. Children's section, Free theme. ephemeral : dedicated to young people up to 13 years old, size maximum 3 x 1 m format, to be performed with a temporary technique, to offer the same spaces the following year to new young artists.

5. Children's section, "Giugno Pisano" (Pisan's June) theme: dedicated to children up to 13 years old, 2 x 1 m format, focuses on project ideas connected and in dialogue with the Luminara and the Gioco del Ponte, 2 x 1 m format, permanent painting.

6. Public preference prize, for artist who will totalize more votes of the online voting, at FB page, and our website artenativapisa.com.

2024 I EDITION THEME AND ABSTRACT

The theme would like to have a graph structure, i.e. a branched tree, and connect the central concept of Freedom, dear to the organizers, with the many meanings that can derive from the native union of "freedom" with: First, “city” and “tradition” (in reference to Giugno Pisano and the Gioco del Ponte especially). Artists should understand these two concepts as Prior to and Anterior to their proposal, to the mural to be created - as something whose value does not diminish over time. Tradition as a spiritual value and the city as an immaterial value are to be considered as Ancestors of the Competition, and as such, they observe it from above, almost guide it, and certainly express opinions on the proposals. “expression”, “boundary”, “choice”, secondly. Think about freedom of choice, free expression, the border between one's own freedom and that of others, but do it from a Scratchy perspective: remembering the Ancestor, but not only.

Scratchy Freedom is a special - albeit imaginary - daughter of Ancestor. She is lively, brilliant, abrupt at times, but always significant, attractive, indelible - she always leaves her mark. Scratchy and Free, like Pisa - a wonder of a city.
