OPEN CALL: The Spongleheim Gallery presents "UNREQUITED"

The Spongleheim Gallery is looking for artists who would like to submit works for consideration in our forthcoming exhibition "UNREQUITED."  

All works will be considered but we are particularly looking for work in the genre of outsider art, Art Brut, naive art, folk art and other forms of self-taught art.

The timeline for this exhibition is as follows:

4th March 2022: Call for submissions opens
4th April 2022  : Call for submissions closes
w/c 25th April 2022 : Artists notified 
1st May 2022: Exhibition opens
21st May 2022: Exhibition closes

Terms and conditions

• The call for submissions for "UNREQUITED" opens on Friday 4th March 2022 and closes at midnight BST on Monday 4th April 2022.  All submissions made during this time will be considered.
• Artists may submit a maximum of three pieces for consideration. 
• For this exhibition we are looking for still images (i.e. drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, installation etc.)  We are unable to consider film or music for this exhibition.
• 21 pieces will be selected to be part of the exhibition by an independent panel of artists.  The panel's selection is final.
• Artists will be notified whether their work has been selected or not by e-mail sometime on w/c 25th April 2022.
• The selected pieces will be added to the online exhibition along with the artists' preferred name and a single link to their portfolio/website as provided below.
• The Spongleheim Gallery is a not for profit project to highlight the works of outsider artists and those producing work associated with this genre. This exhibition is purely to showcase the work of the selected artists. No exchange of money will take place between the artist or the gallery and the Spongleheim Gallery will make no claim of copyright or exclusivity for the works which remain the sole copyright of the artist.

ABOUT THE SPONGLEHEIM
The Spongleheim is a not-for-profit online gallery that specialises in showcasing works in the genres of outsider art, art brut, folk art, naive art and other forms of self-taught artistry.  The gallery deliberately eschews the abundance and convenience of online exhibitions and adopts the constraints a physical, independent gallery would experience. Four exhibitions take place per year to allow for "take-down" and "hanging" with each exhibition only having hanging space for just 21 exhibits.
