HATE-MODERN from the Felt Photographic gallery (and in partnership with Stop Hate UK) invites photographic responses to the impact of hate in the modern world. This open call encourages gallery visitors to bear witness to the impact of hate, notice how they are responding and what might change as a result. Change starts with us. Peace begins within. Time to stop hate.

Felt Photographic exists to challenge the norms of artistic judgement and help deconstruct the elitism and intellectualisation of art. There's no critique, scoring, technical appraisal or judging, it is curated entirely on the felt sense - from how the panel select images to how the galleries are arranged/hung. The Felt Process. We don't need to know anything about art to have a deep and profound experience of it. All art is valid and all responses wholly subjective.

Felt Photographic was created in response to the traditional lack of emphasis of open calls and competitions on the emotional aspect of art and only focuses on celebrating the reason we create in the first place - from emotion to evoke emotion, helping bring us back to the universal experience of our humanity.
