Open Call for Artwork: Office Building Wall Artwork Comission

We are excited to announce an open call for emerging artists to submit proposals for a unique opportunity to create a piece of artwork for the lobby of our new office building, which is located in the historically significant site of a former gin distillery in Clerkenwell. This project aims to celebrate the rich heritage of the building and integrate it into the contemporary design of our workspace.

About the Competition

Objective: To create artwork that reflects the building's history as a gin distillery, blending historical elements with modern aesthetics.

Theme: "Heritage of the Gin Distillery." We invite artists to interpret this theme through their unique lens, incorporating elements of the gin-making process, historical references, or the cultural impact of gin.

Eligibility: Open to artists of all backgrounds and experience levels, both local and international.

Artwork Specifications

• Medium: All mediums are welcome, including but not limited to paintings, sculptures, digital art, and mixed media.

• Size: The artwork should be scalable to fit a lobby space of approximately. Ranging from 1.5mx1m to 2mx2m. There is a level of flexibility in terms of the dimensions.

• Installation: The artwork must be durable and suitable for a public, indoor environment.

Submission Requirements

• Artist Statement: A brief statement (maximum 500 words) explaining the concept and vision of the proposed artwork.

• Artwork: Every artist can submit more than 1 proposal. Please state the dimensions and medium of the artwork clearly in the submission. 

Timeline

• Submission Deadline: All entries must be received by the 31st of August.

• Notification: Finalists will be notified by 9th of September.

• Installation: The winning artwork must be completed and installed by the 6th of October
