Over the Rainbow: LGBTQ Group Show

Gallery 1202 is soliciting submissions for its 2nd group show,  #OvertheRainbow. The show will be held from May 15-June 26, 2020. Alternative mediums are encouraged, maximum dimensions are 5’x5’x5.’ One artist will be chosen for a solo show in 2021 at Gallery 1202.  The show will be featured online on our website, and on our Artsy page where the works will be for sale, if the artist wishes. 

Goal

We would like to create this as exhibition to be as inclusive as possible to all artists who identify as queer or non-binary, who work in mediums not typically seen as traditional, but who are a master of their materials.   We seek high-quality works of art, from emerging to mid-career artists who are passionate about their subject, whatever it may be. 

Eligibility & Entry Fees

All artists are welcome, regional, national and international.  The entry fee is $25 for up to 5 images. If you'd like to submit more, it's $5 per image.  Please e-mail a SINGLE PDF to info@gallery1202.com with your CV/Resume, Artist Statement and 1-5 high res images.  Fees can be paid on the website - please include your FULL NAME on the payment screen. 

Shipping

Shipping instructions will be delivered upon acceptance into the show. Artists are responsible for shipping both ways, and must provide a return shipping label by the end of the show. Work must be shipped in sturdy, reusable containers with appropriate packing material. Work must be received by May 8th at the very latest, drop offs are required by May 12th.  Drop-off/ delivery address is 7363 Monterey Street, Gilroy, CA 95020. Sales

Gallery1202 will put all works up for sale, with artist dictated prices, unless otherwise specified with a NFS note from the artist.  The works will also be put up in an online exhibition on Artsy, unless otherwise specified by the artist. Artist and Gallery 1202.. Sales proceeds will be forwarded to the artist once Gallery 1202 receives payment, and the artwork is picked up.  All works are to remain in the gallery until the close of the show.

Rules:

If your work is accepted into the show, the gallery has copyrights over the images obtained for marketing purposes of the gallery and work installed for the group show.  The gallery can request images of your work for the promotion of the show, but agrees to cease any use of the images after the shows completion aside from previous marketing materials.
